Who Are We?

A ‘Come From Away’ Newfoundlander by descent and choice, the QuietGorilla found true love while attending school in Newfoundland when he ate his first plate of Fish ‘n Brewis. He would also become ensnared in a net laid out by the AngryMermaid, who hoped he would spirit her off the island. Unfortunately for the AngryMermaid, he was happily settling in to an island life of perpetual rain, fog, wind, and $5/lb lobster! Making a career in Higher Education, the QuietGorilla has been a fixture on campuses coast to coast in Canada.

Born and raised on the Rock, the AngryMermaid spent her youth trying to find a way to escape, only to catch a mainlander contented with life on the island. Making a career of caring for the most vulnerable populations, the AngryMermaid has spent the past few decades working in healthcare across Canada. Today, the AngryMermaid works very hard to keep the QuietGorilla grounded, humble, and wearing pants.

Truthfully, the idea for Whaddayaat emerged as a potential antidote to a cruel combination of hope sucking bafflement with all the f*ckery in the world today and crushing mid-life boredom. You think we jest.
